*FASHION FRIDAY*

One of the most interesting things in my eyes is fashion(I secretly think I should have gone into the profession). I am immersed with the colors, fabrics, and choices designers choose when putting a piece together. So every Friday I will be bringing you "FASHION FRIDAY". A peek into what I see simply amazing!

A twist on the classic skinny jean by Kova and T with zippers on the pocket.

A debut at the Paris Spring 2009 Fashion show took Chanel guitar and guitar bag to a whole new level! Makes me wish I played the guitar!

John Patrick Organic launched his line in 2007 and follows a green philosophy using natural and organic fibers, recycled fabrics, and botanical coloring. The brand has seen some strong commercial success and the spring 2009 collection shows me why. The collection features blazers and pants suitable for casual office-wear, and more relaxed wear like madras shorts and loose jeans. Oh ya its Organic!

Eyeworks in L.A- Monrose collection. I WANT I WANT!

Converse by John Varvatos: Not only do I HEART the shoes...I HEART his clothes!

The clutch seems to be the accessory of the minute. I love this purple one with over-sized studs. For just a little bit of punk that is in me!!

No words needed.

Woodchuck Physics

A riddle we all know and it peaked my interest how many people want to know the answer. Its a riddle for crying out loud! So what did I do? I went to my handy know it all: Mr. Google himself.

The answer I found over and over:

"History teaches us that when Archimedes (ca. 287-212 BC) finally
solved this ancient riddle he ran naked through streets shouting
"Eureka!" which of course is Greek for "Hand me a towel!" Luckily the
answer was later recorded on the Rosetta Stone. (Note: If you look
closely you can still make out the tiny woodchuck hieroglyphic). The
answer: 300 cubits, by 50 cubits, by 30 cubits of wood (or enough to
make one good size ark).”

BLAH BLAH BLAH...

After much thought this is my conclusion: everybody knows a woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Next everyone will be wanting to know why she sells seashells by the seashore. Am I right?

Step by Step...Ooooh baby...gonna get to ya giiiirrrrlllll..

A love for design has evolved more and more in my life. It all began at a young age when I used to dress up in my mothers old pearls, jewels, and over sized high heels pretending to be a rich fashionista. In my late teens ,I began to notice the tiniest of details on furniture, appreciate antiques my grandma had around her home, and gained an abnormal interest in photography. Most recent, I took a career position for an architect firm. Design encompasses my daily routine from seeing new architecture designs on desks next to mine to researching top design publications. I have grown to respect this grand scheme of design step by step and now find myself ,somewhat, obsessing over it all. Furniture, fashion, photographs, architecture; the creation of it all. Here is a taste of my new found glory...stairs. Yes. You read that right.

STAIRS!

\ˈgrēn\ with envy?

You can not look at the newspaper without seeing it.

You can not watch the television without seeing it.

You can not listen to the radio or news without hearing it.

"GREEN" is everywhere!

There is no question that green companies are of high interest. And I, personally, applaud those companies who are benefiting the "cool factor" of being green. But in all actuality, those companies are not the ones that tickle my brain. These companies seem to come off a conveyor belt with a checklist. Do we have a cool logo? Check. Do we seem to know a little about what green can offer? Check. Do we get a check from the government if we are "green"? Check.

Regardless how you see it...here are a few companies I think are true and worth checking out:

1.Boxed Water is Better
http://www.boxedwaterisbetter.com/

This little company not only uses 85% of their materials from recycled products they also give 20% of their profits back trees. Talk about a bundle of tree hugging in one! If you are unsure of drinking water out of a carton just remember that about 15 years ago we were drinking milk out of these things. Nothings really changed!

2. Hufft Projects(okay..I'm a little biased)

http://www.hufft.com/

Yes, I am biased. So what?! Not only is this the company I work for, I truly find them green inside and out. From recycling almost everything in the office to using sustainability as the key focus in design, this company has been on the green train before it was "cool"..the only smart and green way to build in my opinion!

3. EnviroGadget.com
http://www.envirogadget.com/
This may not be a focused based company, its more along the lines of :a website I enjoy.
This page allows you to view new and upcoming gadgets, of all things phenomenal, they are Eco-friendly. So if you are a nerd like myself, then you will love checking out these interesting Eco-friendly products that wont hurt the environment.

4. CB2- "edition" Wallart
http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=11011&f=4829
Made from 75% recycled newspaper and 25% recycled canvas this is my newest purchase to date! Although this piece of art is on back order for sometime(handmade with recycled materials)it is worth the wait and money!

Agree, disagree, or agree to disagree with me...these sites have me green with envy and leave me saying, "Why didn't I think of that?!"

Black+White

This being my first blog, I would really like to explain why I chose the title "Gray that Matters". Most people go through life seeing things in black or white. I find myself going through life seeing things in the middle(the gray). If you are thinking I mispelled the word "grey" please go here - http://flakmag.com/misc/grey.html. This only reiterates why I chose this use of spelling. The gray area of situations are the ones I learn from the most...so take a mintute and think. Are you living your life in black and white? Or is the gray area you see yourself in?
Just a start to my blogging..i will be back this weekend to share more things i find fascinating.
